Pagan Pride Day is a celebration of diversity, freedom and community for all those of like mind who embrace Earth centered spirituality. We strive to represent aspects of faiths and practices that honor nature, animals, the human body and our inherent creativity as well as the specific traditions found within our diverse local communities. Join us on Saturday, October 5, 8:30 am to 5 pm, for three open rituals, live music, dance and poetry, spiritual and practical workshops, vendors and more at a free outdoors event for all ages at Bath House Cultural Center. Service is a core value of this event. So, we will have a canned food drive for SoupMobile and a Carter Blood Care bus on site for blood donations. Donations and raffle proceeds will benefit future Pagan Pride events. Volunteers are still needed.
We will have activities for young children to include crafts and creative movement. They will be in a protected area with trained volunteers. Our adult workshops will also be 45 minutes long, and they include such topics as shamanism, home schooling, internet marketing and diversity appreciation. We welcome other topic proposals. Our open rituals will take place at 8:45 am, noon and 4:00 pm. They will generally be 30-45 minutes long, and they will represent spiritual aspects of our local communities. We will have snacks and drinks available for sale during the event.
Live entertainment officially begins at 10 am and ends at 4 pm, with a break for noon ritual. Our entertainment includes two shaded outdoor stages with sound systems. Our diverse musicians stage includes: Darwin Prophet, Katsuk, Jamie Reeves, Sarah Gillmore, Todd Oz, Gwilym the Bard, Wyld Professor and Wulff Harris. Our dance and poetry stage features Wild Sky Tribal, American Tribal Style dance troupe, with supporting poets. Check our DFW Pagan Pride Day 2013 on Facebook for more information regarding additions to our dance and poetry stage.
Our vendors and sponsors also represent a wide diversity within the community. If you wish to become a sponsor listed in our program or to share information about your like minded organization at the event, please let us know by contacting our planning committee members via our local website. You can also send online donations via PayPal or email us to volunteer during the event. We welcome your feedback on Facebook and Twitter at #dfwpagan.
